WHY CERTIFY INCREMENTALITY?

Show your commitment to transparency and industry guidelines.

Incrementality Certified

Commerce media is one of the fastest-growing advertising channels and is expected to reach $300 billion by 2030. As spending increases, advertisers, agencies and procurement teams are looking more closely at how their commerce media investments drive business outcomes.

AAM’s Incrementality Certification provides verification that an organization’s incrementality measurement approach aligns with industry guidance including the IAB and IAB Europe’s Guidelines for Incremental Measurement in Commerce Media and the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) Retail Media Network Measurement Standards.

AAM also provides Retail Media Certifications to ensure retailers’ systems and ad tech companies’ solutions are aligned with the broader IAB/MRC Retail Media Measurement Guidelines or IAB Europe’s Retail Media Measurement Standards. AAM is an official auditor of IAB Europe’s Retail Media Certification Program.

INCREMENTALITY CERTIFICATION PROCESS

What to expect during your incrementality certification.

AAM’s consultative approach customizes the certification to meet your system’s needs. The incrementality certification evaluates three key areas including measurement methodologies and data sources, reporting rigor and transparency and disclosure practices. AAM guides your team through the certification and provides clear, actionable feedback and support.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to some common audit questions.

Becoming certified shows partners that your incrementality measurement approach adheres to industry guidelines as validated by a trusted third-party auditor. It helps demonstrate your company’s commitment to accuracy, transparency and accountability and streamlines discussions with advertisers and partners.

The certification promotes transparency and validates the methodology used against industry guidelines. It helps brands evaluate the causal impact of their commerce media investments and fosters a more efficient, credible marketplace for all stakeholders.

The process evaluates how companies construct and calculate incrementality models, track ad metrics, report results and implement controls to reduce bias and external influences. It also ensures that organizations clearly communicate their methodologies, assumptions and limitations so stakeholders can confidently evaluate the results.

While the timing depends on the complexity of your system, most audits are completed within 60-90 days. We’ll work closely with your team to meet expectations and stay on schedule.

Our team of professional auditors are experts in media measurement, systems and reporting and managed by Certified Information System Auditors (CISA) — a globally recognized certification for auditors of information technology and business systems. Our team also participates in industry working groups shaping retail media measurement guidelines including IAB and IAB Europe.

Once certification is complete, you’ll receive a final report including recommendations for improvement, if needed. Your company will also receive the AAM certification seal to promote your achievement and will be included on AAM’s Assurance List, a directory of clients that have demonstrated their commitment to transparency through independent audits.
